Scientific Acupuncture describes a new style of acupuncture based on the science of how it works.

Your understanding of how acupuncture works is far from complete. I do not care who you are, you do not know as much as you think you do. The proof is on every page on this website. This page is just an overview. There is much that you were not taught in school and TCM is not the whole story. And neither is Western medicine. They both have much to learn from each other. And even what you think you know is far from the whole story. I am sorry to tell you that but there is research you haven’t been exposed to or know anything about. And the implications of this research are profound. Your schooling focused on TCM. You were lucky if you got a good training in Western anatomy, physiology and disease process. The current thinking on how acupuncture works scientifically is endorphins and brain chemistry through the nervous system. Past that you are stuck using TCM language. I have discovered that there are bio-electric mechanisms that are equally important. And you weren’t taught anything about that. Even being a medical doctor doesn’t make you an expert in bio-electrical phenomenon. The main ways acupuncture works in simple terms is 1) by affecting autonomic control of the body by stimulating the nervous system. 2) By causing various bio-electric effects you know nothing about. Acupuncture points become tender on palpation and become easier to detect with a point locator by two main mechanisms: 1) trauma of some sort. This is how we get true “ah shi” points. 2) For “classical”points, this is usually caused by a “stress reaction” that is sent to the point by the sympathetic nervous system. When some part or function of the body is disturbed, this “stress reaction” is sent to the point that is associated with that part or function to the sympathetic nerves at the point, making it more tender and more electrically active. This is why palpation is so useful. You can confirm your diagnosis (and surprise your patient at the same time). It also tells you which points will be helpful in treatment. So you see, there are many things you know nothing about. And when you use electro-acupuncture you need to know how electricity works. Did your school even teach you that? Without that background you can not understand the bio-electric effects. Fortunately for you I explain everything except how to do most of the treatments I have come up with in these pages. You will have to buy my 2nd book to learn that. And I continue to develop additional treatments. You can find the e-book version here for $10.00. The print version is now available for $45.00 and can be found here. What have you done?

Even how you were taught to needle points is incomplete. In fact you cannot know how to needle a point without knowing the bio-electric effects involved. That includes what you are trying to treat, what kind of point it is and how to needle it for best effect. And no matter what school you went to, you were taught nothing about any of that since it is not a part of TCM theory or practice. But without that knowledge, you cannot needle safely. I ave seen Chinese “expert” in China cause a patient to get worse by using an inappropriate needling technique. And that was during a “demonstration”. So don’t feel too bad. Strong needling technique has limits and is often not necessary. Sometimes it is helpful to give the nervous system strong stimulation, but it has to be done correctly so as not to cause harm or cause needle shock. Acupuncture does not have to hurt. We are trying to stimulate parasympathetic nervous system in most cases, not the sympathetic nervous system. So if you use a strong needling technique, you have much to learn. (Are you listening, China?). So even if you have a master’s degree or a doctorate in acupuncture, you still have a lot to learn. I don’t have either and I know much more than you do, despite the letters after your name. And much of that knowledge I learned on my own. But being an electrical engineer has been a big help too.

The research by the French Doctors Darras and De Vernajoul shows that the meridians really exist and are a secondary system for the circulation of Extra Cellular fluid. This is an understanding I have come to understand but they have never expressed that I know of. But it is the only sensible interpretation of their work. It only takes a rudimentary understanding of physiology to understand. This is profound, and validates some precepts in TCM. Such as the qi in the meridians nourishes and moistens the tissues. But also forces us to reinterpret others and proves others are simply wrong. If the meridians are associated with the circulation of extra cellular fluid, then the flow in the channels must go from the periphery to the heart as their research shows. And the flow does not reverse direction but ebbs and flows in strength instead. TCM can no longer be thought of as the be all and end all in our understanding of acupuncture. And there is much more work to be done to further clarify some of these points. And this is just a brief introduction to pique your interest. There is much more contained in these pages and in my books. this page is just an introduction. You have much to learn, no matter who you are. The how things work are pretty much contained in these pages as well as in my books. But if you want to learn how to do my treatments safely, you will have to read my books.

My own simple research that I can do with the tools I have have further proved my views are correct or the treatments I have developed basted on these views should not have worked, but they did, consistently. These treatments are based on what the meridians are and how to influence their functioning to good effect. They also use Bio-Electric effects to successfully treat inflammation and degeneration. And there is more to come as I think of more ways to use my knowledge to come up with more treatments. One I am trying on a patient now is treating bone-on-bone joints by actually regrowing the cartilage. They say that is impossible. But I know exactly how it can be done! And it seems to be working. I am getting significant reduction in pain and improvement in function. There are improvements that need to be made, some of which already have shown to help. The phenomena I am using happens spontaneously in the body under the right conditions. I am just using technology to make it happen where I want. Now I just have to perfect it. Another treatment on the horizon is treating scars and other skin blemishes. I just have to finish building the equipment to do it without using something that plugs into the wall. Here I am using electricity to cause degeneration of fibroblasts that then can regenerate into normal healthy cells. If it works, we will then know that the signal the cell gets mostly come from the body as a whole. If it doesn’t work, we will know that the cells also listen to nearby cells to know what to become. So either way, useful to be done. I am developing is a treatment to temporarily get rid of wrinkles.

And it works just like I thought it would! Now I have to learn how to adjust the treatment for wrinkles of different sizes and locations. My most recent treatments are for degenerative conditions of the eyes such as cataracts and macular degeneration. I have also become an expert on FSM remote treatments and imprinting the treatments onto a water/alcohol mixture or onto holographic stickers. And there is more treatments /research I want to try/do. My views go far beyond the release of endorphins that you are probably familiar with. I have already proved that. What you were taught in school is far from the whole story. You have much to learn yet. Don’t believe me? Read these pages. Then tell me if I was wrong. Join me in the revolution to bring acupuncture into the 21st century. Being an Electrical Engineer has proved to be very useful. Don’t you think? Have you heard any of this from anyone else? No. Because my background and interests led me to the pieces of the puzzle and allowed me to put them together into a logical and sensible whole. This knowledge shows that acupuncture can be explained scientifically. I did that, without a stinking P.H.D. or M.D. I was just the right person at the right time. You can doubt me all you want but the facts are the facts. Like I said, you have much to learn that will make you a better and more capable practitioner. That I can guarantee. I can even supply a mechanism for the flow in the meridians and a possible mechanism for their existence in the first place. That will be in my second book. You can find the e-book version here for $10.00. The print version is now available for $45.00 and can be found here.

Scientific acupuncture recognizes both autonomic effects and bio-electric effects of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture and uses techniques based on this knowledge. Some of these techniques were developed by Mark Reinhard and are described in his book “Electro-Acupuncture for Practitioners“. My second book “Scientific Acupuncture” describes all the techniques I use in my clinic, how to do them correctly and how they work scientifically. You can find the e-book version here for $10.00. The print version is now available for $45.00 and can be found here.
